Phoenix Spirit iPhone app Review

Description:

In the Phoenix Spirit iPhone app you will have to go on a quest to save the Mother Tree from the horrible disease that has taken hold of it.  You will be doing a lot of exploring in order to get around the forest and get to the root of the problem.  You will unlock a bunch of new ares and you will have to collect upgrades to be able to learn how to defeat the disease.  The gameplay is similar to any 2D sidescrolling shooter except for the fact that you are flying in this game.  The control scheme is very simple and you will be right at home if you have played games like Castlevania or Metroid.  This game utilizes the accelerometer and will keep you occupied for hours on end.

Features:

• In this app you will be forced to take off and save the mother tree who is dying from some unknown disease.  You will have to find out the cause of the sickness and then work to get rid of it
• One of the fun features of the app is the ability you have to explore the environments.  You will have to use the simple control scheme in order to get around the forest.  You can go at your own pace and explore all that you want
• This little gaming app also has some incredible aesthetics.  You will be in awe of the graphics and how detailed they are.  The game also comes with a great soundtrack to complement the already beautiful visuals.  It makes for a completely engulfing experience
• There are different powerups that you can collect while you are progressing through the game.  You will have to upgrade with these powerups in order for your little spirit to be strong enough to take on the deadly disease that is attacking Mother Tree
• The environments in the game are just absolutely huge.  The world is very big and you can enjoy all of it without having to wait for annoying loading times or have any kind of lag whatsoever

Conclusion:

For an app that only costs a dollar, this developer has gone to great lengths to create a very visually stunning app that makes for a great playing experience.  Although there are not a ton of different features to spice up the game, the environments really are big and you will have fun exploring every corner of them as you progress through the game.
